Phosphate Battery With Remote Monitoring
Technologies with lithiated metal oxide cathodes and carbon anodes have high cell voltages (typically 3.6 V to 3.7 V) and correspondingly high energy densities. These technologies have very different life and safety characteristics. Batteries with lithium iron phosphate as the cathode material are inherently safer than metal oxide/carbon batteries, but have lower voltages (about 3.2V) and lower energy density. Designs using lithiated metal oxide cathodes and lithium titanate anodes have the lowest voltage (~2.5V) and low energy density, but offer higher power capacity and safety advantages.
