This immersion chiller is designed for 5 gallon batches and will cool your wort in minutes!
Stainless Steel is not as thermally conductive as Copper, meaning the same chiller in stainless vrs copper will take about 10% longer to cool your wort. The main advantage of stainless over copper is that stainless won't tarnish between uses. The price of stainless is also less than copper making this a very affordable chiller that will last a lifetime.
Note: The inner bend on the coils have small indentations that are a natural result of the winding process used during manufacturing. By enlarging the photos you can view. As a bonus these actually help turbulate the cooling water to eliminate laminar flow.
When using an Immersion Wort Chiller there's no unnecessary transferring to different containers, and there's no need to dilute the wort with cold water. Just drop the immersion chiller in to the brew pot. The preferred method of sanitation is to make sure it is clean to the eye and submerge the coil portion of the chiller in to the wort during the last 15 minutes of the boil, this will kill any wild yeasts or unsanitary pests that might be introduced. Once the brew pot is taken off the boil, you can begin cooling immediately by hooking up the line and turning on the water.
